Il suo album di debutto, New Wave Vaudeville (uscito a gennaio 2025 per Faction Records), si ispira al leggendario spettacolo musicale e teatrale New Wave Vaudeville, un freak show di varietà che si teneva al Club 57 di New York tra il 1978 e il 1983. Il club era conosciuto per le sue performance d’arte libere e sregolate — una risposta sfrenata e provocatoria alla crescente commercializzazione della cultura di quegli anni — un’energia che il nostro riprende pienamente!

Skinner è Aaron Corcoran, artista di Dublino che scrive, registra e produce brani che parlano di crescita personale e di come superare un’esistenza segnata dalle contraddizioni del ventunesimo secolo.
Nel suo sound si intrecciano il DNA del no wave e del post-punk di band come The B-52s, James Chance and the Contortions ed ESG, insieme ai riferimenti alt-rock dei Pixies e dei Morphine, il tutto plasmato da un gusto per l’autoproduzione dal sapore grunge e da momenti di strumentazione più raffinata.
Insieme alla sua band di cinque elementi, che include anche un sassofonista, Skinner si è esibito in numerosi festival come The Great Escape, Ireland Music Week, Beyond The Pale, All Together Now, Other Voices, Galway Fringe Festival e Watt’en Schlick-Festival, oltre ad aver aperto i concerti di Gurriers, Lime Garden, Dope Lemon, Algiers, Bambara, The Wedding Present e Silverbacks.

I suoi singoli precedenti — Dislocation, Sometimes My Brain is Goo, Slouch e Headroom — hanno ottenuto passaggi radiofonici su KCRW, BBC Across the Line, RTÉ 2FM e 98FM (programma di John Barker). Skinner ha ricevuto il supporto dei media da testate come The Independent, DIY Mag, Paste, Fred Perry Subculture, So Young, Nialler9, District Magazine e altre ancora. È stato inoltre il volto di An Alternative Éire, la popolare playlist di Spotify, e ha avuto brani inclusi in playlist ufficiali come All New Punk, All New Rock, New Music Friday UK, Fresh Finds IE, Alternative Ireland, Today’s Punk – A Breath of Fresh Éire, Post Punk 2K e Hot New Bands. Skinner è stato trasmesso anche su BBC 6 Music (Steve Lamacq), KCRW, BBC Radio 1, BBC NI, RTÉ 2FM, Triple R, Amazing Radio, Flux FM e Indie XL.
